David established Bitpower in 2017 in response to the increasing demand for independent advice on power options for data centres. His background in energy technology research and sustainability with Irish and EU policymakers provides a unique position from which to advise data operators.
David has supported Host In Ireland on their Advisory Council for since January 2016, and is currently preparing a report on the sustainability of the Irish data hosting industry for Host In Ireland with the support of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland. David is a mechanical engineer with 20 years experience across various industries and has represented Ireland at the EU Commission’s Horizon 2020 energy research programme, as well as being a leader in the development of Irish energy research and energy efficiency policies. He understands the Irish energy landscape and is keen to help address the energy challenges posed by Ireland’s increasing digital success.
